As an organization admin, you can enable order level modifiers and add order-level modifiers for your online store customers. The order level modifiers functionality allows customers to add items at checkout that are not on the menu.
To enable this function:
Log in to your Moduurn Back Office (MBO) www.admin.moduurn.com as an admin user.
STEP 1: Select Locations and then on Manage beside the location.
STEP 2: Click on Order Management. Scroll down to Enable Order Level Modifiers and enable the function. Click on Save at the bottom of the page.
To create order level modifiers:
STEP 1: Click on Menus and select the one you would like to edit.
STEP 2: Click on Order Level Modifiers from the categories.
STEP 3: Click on Create Order Level Modifiers.
STEP 4: On the window that opened up, fill the required fields following the instructions below.
On the Modifier Title field, add the name of the modifier (eg. add cutlery) and then click on Publish. This will make the item available at checkout
Note: To unpublish if the items are not in stock, click on Publish to unpublish. Scroll down and click Save.
Price - type in 0 if using a Counter Setting or if you have more than one modifier item. The prices are to be added to the items as Cost Difference in Step 5. If not using the Counter Setting and you only have one modifier item, then type in the price here.
Description - add a description if necessary.
Minimum and Maximum Limit, - set your min and max limit. If no limits put 0 min 0 max. Select Required only if the customer must select this item at checkout. Leave it unchecked if you do not require the customer to select the item
Taxes - click on the taxes that apply to the item you are adding here (eg. HST, PST, GST).
Delivery - click on the delivery methods that apply for the item (Eg. Delivery up to 2.00KM)
Action Caption - edit the line, this is the first part of your modifier question/sentence before the Modifier Title (eg. Choose to add bags. ‘Choose to’ is the action caption and ‘add bags’ is the modifier title)
Modifier External ID - add External ID if you have POS integration for your location. A matching External ID in MBO & your POS is required for all POS integrations.
Counter Setting - click on the circle (this will let the customer select how many items they want by clicking “+” or “-”).
Note: On the Price field, type in 0 if using Counter Setting. The prices are to be added to the items' Cost Difference in Step 5. If not using the Counter Setting, then type in the price in the Price field.
STEP 5: Once the information is filled out, click on Save. The option to add items/sub modifiers will show up after that.
Items/Sub Modifiers - click on the Add button.
Type - leave as Item if only one item to add. If an item has choices then use Sub Modifier.
Under Name - type in the name of your item.
Cost Difference - type in the item price.
Minimum Limit - set the minimum that a customer can choose (if no limit, leave it at 0). If you have Sub modifiers, set the minimum limit as well (if no limit, leave it at 0).
Maximum Limit - set the maximum that a customer can choose (if no limit, leave it at 0). If you have Sub modifiers set the maximum limit as well (if no limit, leave it at 0)
External ID - add the External ID if you have POS integration.
When finished, click on the checkmark button on that line to save the item.
STEP 6: Scroll down and click Save. Repeat starting from STEP 2 to add a separate item.
Note:
It may take up to 30 minutes for the system server to update when enabling the function.
The user will only see the modifier at checkout.
Users can delete the item if the item is not forced.
The modifier is separate from category items. This modifier can’t be imported to items in the categories.
If the item is unforced and the customer goes to pay, they will see under the item(s) the add box for the modifier but they are still able to go to payment and continue on.
If the item is forced and the customer goes to select a payment method, they will see under the item(s) the modifier item will say required. The customer can not go to the payment section until they add an item from the modifier that is required.
